Minecraft Beta 1.2

Minecraft got updated to 1.2 today =)

Patchnotes:

Note Block: Plays a sound when triggered by redstone or punched (right click to tune)



Note blocks make different sounds depending on the block they are placed on top of.
The default sound is a kind of piano sound.
On wood, planks, pumpkins, chests, another note block, or air, it makes a bass sound.
On sand, gravel, soulsand, or dirt, it makes a snare drum sound.
On glass or glowstone, it makes a click sound.
On stone, cobblestone, obsidian, netherrack, bricks, and mossy cobblestone, it makes a bass drum sound.




Dispenser: Items stored in it, are dropped when triggered. Arrows,Eggs and Snow Balls are shot out, as if they were thrown/shot (the era of arrow traps has begun :D)




15 coloured dyes: If crafted together with wool, creates coloured wool. If used on sheep, the sheep gets painted :D

Light-gray, gray and black sheep can occur naturally.
 
New passive mob, the Squid: Aquatic mob, does not attack the player, drops 1-3 ink sacks. Cannot suffocate if not in water. can spawn in shallow water

Two new tree types:

Birch

Pine
Sugar:

Cake:  Place and right click, to restore 1,5 hearts. This can be done six times with one cake. (it´s not a lie^^)

The buckets are not lost

New ore type, Lapis Lazuli: To create blue dye and LL Blocks


New block, Sandstone: Created by crafting together 4 sand blocks.


Tools are more durable
Gold pick = 33 uses (and smashes through rock FASTER than diamond!)
Stone pick = 132 uses
Iron pick = ~251 uses
Diamond pick = ~1563 uses (!)

Other:
- Spiders can now climb up walls
- Skeletons  drop bones additionally to arrows now. They can be crafted into bonemeal, which is used for white dye and to speed up crop growth
- Mob Spawners now show a rotating model inside of what they spawn again
- Brown dye is created with cocoa beans. Those are not added with this update though.
- Smelting logs in the furnace, creates charcoal, which behaves like normal coal
- Smelting cactuses in the furnace, creates green dye
- Trees can grow higher than before now
- You can now plant torches on ceilings (only next to walls, so pretty useless imo=Bug?)
- When walking out of shallow water, the player hops a little bit now (function?)
- The FasterRenderMod by Scaevolus is added to boost performance (some people are experiencing performance issues though: temporary fix
- New music was added
- Mob spawning algorithm was changed, there are lots of animals spawning right now and the mob traps are full of monsters
- Increased spawn rate of wheat seeds
- Improved furnace texture

Bugfixes:
* Paintings work in multiplayer
* Disconnecting while riding no longer keeps the player in the world
* A bunch more state is properly synched in multiplayer
* Fixed colors going weird on PowerPC
* Fixed a horrible chunk reload loop in singleplayer
* Fixed most lighting bugs in newly generated SMP maps
* Falling sand behaves better in SMP
* Fixed a few crash on load level bugs
* Jack-O-Lantern now has correct tooltip
* Sheep now visibly lose their wool when hit
* Screenshots are taken with F2 only now (instead of F1 + F2)
 * You can no longer plant crops under blocks to remove them

New Bugs:
- Rails sometimes don´t behave the way they should (example)
- Some lightning bugs in SMP
- Mob Glitch on peaceful: Mobs spawn and vanish immediatly after
 Fixed in Patch 1.2_01
